Verizon and Ontela have worked together to produce a mobile uploader for Photobucket, one of the world’s oldest photo uploading tools on the Internet. Signing up is easy, as all you need to do is use your existing Photobucket account and link to your Verizon phone line:

To utilize the application, Verizon Wireless subscribers sign up for a Photobucket account – which can be created for free at http://photobucket.com – and enter their log-in information to link their Verizon Wireless account to their Photobucket online photo album. Once the accounts are connected, the application instantly uploads photos already saved on the phone to the user’s Photobucket account. The Photobucket Mobile Uploader then automatically sends any future photos directly to the same Photobucket account. [release]

The service will be available for 13 handsets on the Verizon network, and we’re assuming that these are the faster 3G / HSDPA phones. The service allows for unlimited photo uploading for only $2.99 a month.

This is probably one of the more affordable Supernova phones from Nokia. The 7100 Supernova retails at about 70 Euros and is targeted towards developing countries. It isn’t really about the fashion - and come to think of it, the positioning of the phone puts design in second place as the 7100 Supernova comes with a few tools that support … well a mileu of develpment tools like agriculture information for pricing of produce; so Mr. Farmer can have a second opinion aside from the middle man’s prices.

The Nokia 7100 Supernova is a stylish addition to the popular Supernova collection. Designed for style and entertainment, the colorful device is highlighted by its large, high resolution color screen, FM radio and a 1.3 megapixel camera and support for Share on Ovi, Nokia’s online photo sharing service. The Nokia 7100 Supernova will also include support for Mail on Ovi, as well as a browser for surfing information on the Internet. The Nokia 7100 Supernova is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2008 with an estimated retail price of 75 EUR. [PRESS RELEASE]

The Supernova 7100 comes with Bluetooth, a 1.3MP camera, FM radio and Nokia Life Tools. And yes even if we aren’t third world, this phone is yummy.

The Nokia E63 is the cheaper brother to the more elegant E71. Slightly thicker with more playful colors of blue and “Space Marine” red, the E63 boasts a similar form factor sans the secondary camera, HSDPA. It also comes with a lower resolution 2MP camera as compared to the E71’s 3.2MP camera. Truthfully, this is not a bad deal if you’ve always wanted to own an E71 but could not spare the extra cash. The phone is obviously targeted to compete with the Palm Centro which caters to a more young and hip market that desires much for a QWERTY keyboard.

One thing that the E63 has that the E71 doesn’t — a 3.5mm audio output! The E71 only has a 2.5mm which means you’d have to find a third party adapter to plug in your regular headphones.

Telcos do this all the time but by George, what a whopping drop for the iPhone! The 8GB iPhone is currently experiencing a huge price cut to $99.00 from Orange just in time for the holidays. This is way below the suggested retail price of the phone leaving a lot of subsidizing going for Orange. Moves like this usually cater to the initial appetite for gadget lust without consumers realizing how “trapped” they are in their post paid cellular plans for the next so and so months.

Sometimes a phone is a clearer mirror of ourselves.

Call it what you want. Marketing sensitive denizens may call this another PR spin from Nokia but I see it from another point of view. Nokia’s latest campaign dubbed Somebody Else’s Phone has been around since October and although it differs in every region, one particular message stands out. They’ve hit it right in the bag: You are your phone.

Imagine this. If you were to stumble across a phone in a dark alley that was obviously lost by its previous owner, would you itch to hazard a peek into it? And believe me, you can find out so many things about a total stranger by just peeking into his or her phone. So much of our life is hidden in the unlocked safe that is our mobile. From inbox text, sent messages, call history, music, photos, video and even the applications installed - tell us so much about a person without meeting them.

How much sensitive information do you keep in your phone? Let’s say you were to lose, god forbit, your phone tonight at a party, how much if your life would be revealed to a complete stranger?

Digital voyeurism at its best!

Finally! A FREE and reliable sync conduit for Windows Mobile and Macintosh!

With many sync apps available in the market today, it’s hard to find a reliable and FREE tool which you can use to keep your PIM in sync. For someone like me, I don’t really care to sync iPhoto or iTunes with my Windows Mobile device. What’s of primary importance is my PIM - address book, calendar and the like. So say hello to SyncMate, a free Mac to Windows Mobile sync tool. This is something we’ve been waiting for! The free version comes with these features, including an epic SMS sending conduit:

    * Device info plugin The most exact information about your Pocket PC right at your fingertips – all you ever wanted to know about your Pocket PC.

This post is of course written with all due respect to The Missing Sync, which is still one of the most kick ass sync tool in the market today. It’s just not .. free. So if the crisis is hitting you hard, SyncMate is for you!

Look, if you found out that you could have gotten $30.00 more worth of groceries then maybe I’d understand because thirty bucks can buy you a lot of produce. But when Walmart slashes $30.00 off the T-Mobile G1, I don’t think the early adopters should complain. I mean, you were crazy enough to buy it the day it shipped. That’s one. Second - the holidays are fast approaching and expect these discounts to happen. Third - it’s Walmart!

Walmart recently slashed thirty bucks off the new T-Mobile G1. And it seems that CNN is picking up such IMPORTANT news.

NOTE: If you are reading this now, it could mean that you’re an early bird at the polls OR you’re still home and have not yet cast your vote. GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!

As reported from Bloomberg:

Texting may do for the Democratic presidential candidate what arm-twisting precinct captains did in years past: prod millions to get out and vote. The Obama campaign plans to use the millions of cell-phone numbers it has amassed over the past 22 months to blast its supporters with that message today.

The biggest concern for the Obama campaign is getting young people — who have registered in record numbers and shown unprecedented interest in surveys — to turn out. In 2004, only 45 percent of those under 30 showed up to vote, according to Census data, making them just 16 percent of the electorate that year.

… Studies show that texting is among the most effective and cheapest ways of getting supporters, particularly blacks, Hispanics and younger voters, to the voting booth.
