Clothes Storage: What’s Greener?

I’m in the middle of a move right now. Everyone loves sleeping on the floor for a few weeks, right?

I just found a new apartment, so now I’m debating how to store all my clothes. I had a big walk-in before, but now my closet is a little smaller.

Plastic hangars are a no-no. They look bad, and they hurt your clothes. I’ve used wood before, but I worry about all the trees used to make the hangars.

The new velvet hangars are great, but I’m not really sure what they’re made of. I’ve used the eco-hangars before (the ones made of cardboard) but they don’t move in a closet very easily.

So what’s the best? Any ideas?

Tom’s Wrap Boot

We already know that I love m Tom’s shoes.

Then I saw that for fall, Tom’s has boots. Boots, wrap boots. I’m not sure if you actually wrap around your leg or if you pull them on.

If they’re anywhere near as comfortable as the normal Tom’s are, I’m all over them. I would hope the soles are a little more lasting than the regular Tom’s soles, though. Either way, you’re giving a needy child a pair of shoes with each purchase, so it’s worth it.

Oh man. It’s almost jacket season and jackets are my favorite!

I want a motorcycle jacket, a satin jacket and anything else I can find that’s awesome.

Like perhaps this tiny frilly black satin jacket from De Sentino. It’s a Canadian brand, and I have no idea how this jacket is eco or socially conscious, so you might wan to do a little research of your own.

It is pretty though, isn’t it?

Chic Designer: Popomomo

I really like saying Popomomo, the name of this cute sustainable brand.

Po. Po. Mo. Mo. Isn’t it fun?

Anyway, Popomomo stands for post-modern movement, which is the inspiration for designer Lizz Wasserman. Lizz has worked for Urban Outfiters and Free People, which is definitely evident in her designs. They’re a little hippie, but also more modern than the stuff you usually see at UO.

The line is produced in LA and made with sustainable fabrics and washes.

I love the look of these knits, which would be great layered for fall.
