What Wedding Fashion Trends Will 2010 Bring

Since 2009 is almost over, and most future brides are already looking forward toward their planning in 2010. So what will 2010 bring for wedding fashion? I think that 2010 will be a year that changes things up a little for wedding fashions.

I’m seeing some different necklines lately, the strapless gown has been the thing for several years now. I think this year we’re seeing some different necklines, including one shoulder gowns, and v-necks (my favorite).

I think we’ll also see more short wedding gowns. With more and more brides opting for a destination wedding. They’re also looking for gowns that are not fussy and can travel easily.

The last couple years I’ve been seeing more ruffled and tiered tulle skirts on wedding gowns. From the gowns I’ve seen lately, I think that will continue into 2010, for those bride princesses out there.

I worked in a bridal shop for quite a few years. I loved helping brides find the wedding gown of their dreams. You could always tell by the look in their eye when they tried on “the one.” I think that’s why I’m a fan of TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress. I love watching the brides shop for that perfect wedding gown.

The TLC program lets everyone see into the world’s premier bridal salon, Kleinfeld’s Bridal to watch brides search for their dream dress.

We get to watch as their team of specialists guide brides through the process of selecting, fitting, altering and delivering a flawless dress in time for their wedding day.

I know from experience that things don’t always go perfectly, and not all brides are easy to work with. It is fascinating to watch a bride find that dream dress for her once in a lifetime day.

Wedding Gowns With A Splash Of Red

Tis the season for the color red. If you’re planning a Christmas wedding for this year, hopefully you already have your dress picked out and ready to go.

Red is a wonderful color to go with during the Christmas season if you want to stick with the traditional, and you want to capitalize on the spirit of Christmas.

You can even add a splash of red to your wedding gown. You can add a red sash or a belt around the middle.

Go with some red embroidery on the train or bodice of your wedding gown.

Red bows, inserts or trim can also add a splash of color to your dress. Or if you want to be a little more dramatic, go for a red train, or underskirt.

You don’t even have to add the red to your dress. This time of the year you can add a cape or cover-up to your wedding day look with a touch of red in the stitching or trim.

Winter Wedding Postage

You have custom invitations, and everything else about your wedding is personalized to fit your taste, so why would you stop with your wedding postage. You can even get postage that matches your invitations, or your wedding theme. If you’re having a winter wedding you can get postage stamps to match the spirit of the season.

Zazzle has some great winter wedding postage, actually Zazzle has great custom postage, whatever your wedding theme is, you can probably find it there.

Many also have a quick message printed on them from announcing your love, to announcing your engagement or wedding.

I like this crystal snowflake stamp, it’s one of my favorites.

Some of the stamps even have winter wedding printed on them. So why settle for regular postage stamps for your once in a lifetime occasion?

Winter Wedding Wraps at Etsy

The other day I talked about bridal cover ups for winter weddings. I was browsing around on Etsy today, and I came across some really cute bridal wraps that would be beautiful for chilly winter weddings. So let’s check them out!

First up is a beautiful white frost faux fur wrap from Vladana listed at $69.00. It’s an elegant handmade wrap, the fur is off-white decorated with silver, and lined with Casa Collection Bridal silk for a fabulous look.

Vladana’s Etsy Shop also has this longer Off White Faux Fur Mink Stole listed at $79.00. The ends are finished with crystal trim, to give it that extra winter touch, and it’s also lined with the bridal silk. This one just looks like luxury.

This white orchid cream colored bolero from toccata priced at $178.00, if it’s paired with the right dress will definitely turn some heads. The chiffon petals were individually sewn by hand! Wow!

An Introduction

I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Linette, and I’ve been writing here at Splendicity Weddings for a couple weeks now, but I never really said hello. I’ve been around bridal shops, and weddings for most of my life, so I can’t wait to share my wedding info here with all of you.

I also write about weddings at Blisstree’s Our One Heart, and about party planning and entertaining at She Knows Parties, and planning children’s parties at The Kid’s Birthday Fun Review.

I have the opportunity to attend several wedding shows, and expos every year. So I hope to share all the fun stuff I see and learn there, along with wedding fashions and anything else I find along the way.

I love entertaining and taking my own photos, so I hope to have plenty of great wedding fun to share in the upcoming weeks.

Battle Of The Wedding Planners

Battle Of The Wedding Planners premiered tonight on TLC. My plans were to watch it, but my son had a friend over and they took over my TV for games. I did catch a couple minutes of the show, but when they weren’t playing games they were wrestling on the floor.

Three of America’s best wedding planners competed for the chance to plan a couple’s wedding. The catch? They have to make the entire wedding happen on the couple’s $15,000 budget.

The claws come out as these three super competitive wedding planners work to achieve with a wedding concept the bride and groom will love.

The planners search Los Angeles for the most romantic venues that will fit into their budget. The competition is fierce and the concepts amazing. The couple has to pick their favorite plan as the winner.

Did you get a chance to check out the show? I’m definitely watching next week!

The Bubbly Bride Book Review

I received a really cool cocktail recipe book the other day to check out. The book is called “The The Bubbly Bride: Your Ultimate Wedding Cocktail Guide,” by Natalie Bovis-Nelson and it’s loaded with fun cocktails just for weddings.

It features cocktails for every stage of wedding planning from “I Will” to “I Do!” This handy guide also has a whole section on champagne and sparkling cocktails, and includes some low-cal cocktails if you’re still trying to fit into that dream dress. There are cocktails with an Asian flair, and a chapter explaining how a bride and groom can create their own signature cocktail.

Would you like some Prenup Punch, or Bachelorette Party Punch? Or would you like to go green with the Liquid Muse “Green” and White Sangria. This book is a great resource to find a wedding cocktail that will fit your tastes.

I love that this book fits in your hand nicely, so you can take it along as a reference guide to your wedding, or party. I also love the photos of many of the recipes, I’m a visual person, so I love photos.

The book will hit book shelves in early December, and will also be available at TheLiquidMuse.com and Amazon.com.
