For the month of June, Bing is looking great by becoming the 13th most visited site in the U.S. with 49.57 million. This puts Bing ahead of Digg, Twitter, and CNN. While their ultimate goal is far from happening, their burst of traffic in the first month or so has been impressive. I believe their development team should work overtime and fast in hearing out all the positive remarks and do something on the negative items in their search engine. As long as they continue to read and address user comments, their growth traffic can grow over a long period of time.

Digg has received 38.96 million visitors, Twitter 23 million visitors, and CNN with 28.54 million visitors for June.

Bing is Doing Good

I was excited on this notion and installed Windows 7 build 70++ back in May and I was disappointed to find out that configuring IIS in order to run server applications threw exception errors. Also, the Daemon I was using threw all sorts of error as well.

Today, Microsoft is about to release Windows 7 RTM and I want to see whether Microsoft has already fixed these problems. I have one resistance though, I just can’t overwrite the previous build and upgrade my operating system to a Windows 7 RTM installation.

How about you, have you tried using Windows 7 already? Are you happy about it?

Apps that do not install on Windows 7?

In a recent study by J.Gold Association they noted that companies actually save more in a three year period when investing on SSDs compared to standard disks. A computer with a standard disk would cost around $970 USD in warranty support and repair compared to a $715 USD savings on computers. The savings translate to over $214 USD is savings for a three year period.

While the numbers are fine, I think companies would save more by raising their employee’s awareness on taking care of their laptops to make sure the life of the hardware reaches it’s full depreciation period. The SSD savings is no guarantee as the SSD’s reputation might actually lessen the employee’s awareness of taking care of their hardware because they know how durable their product is.

Companies Save Money from SSDs

The 15-inch MacBook Pro is the best of the tier-one commercial notebooks, full stop. My two complaints — that the SD card sticks out of its slot and the USB ports remain too close together — are overshadowed by the new display, seven-hour battery, faster CPU, and the fact that there is an SD card slot. I have personally been using the first gen of the 15″ Unibody MacBook Pros and apart from the battery life I’m quite happy with it. It’s truly one of the best built laptops I’ve owned. With the new models, my battery complaints have most likely been answered.

I honestly think that the MacBook Pro is quite possibly the best notebook around, be it PC or Mac. Sure there are faster, more powerful notebooks. Alienware comes to mind but non as refined and well rounded as the MacBook Pro. It simply looks and performs well.

Today, Microsoft is most likely to bring the clip back as evidence on their Microsoft Office 2010  movie advertisement previews.

In the latest movie, the initial scene shows the grave of Clippy and moved into an interrogation of missing fonts. The Office 2010 build excitement is getting hotter and intense and in the coming days, Microsoft is bound to release a technical preview of Microsoft Office 2010.

2010 Microsoft Clippy

Microsoft has announced via email that they will be discontinuing this service on August 26, 2009.

Microsoft’s SMS Link service will be discontinued effective August 26th, 2009.  Once this service is discontinued, current users will no longer be able to send SMS messages through Office Outlook 2007 using SMS Link.  There are several service providers worldwide who offer similar services, and if you wish to continue using this feature in Office Outlook 2007, you should consider switching to one of these providers.

The available service providers to switch to if you would prefer not to lose this functionality are the following:

• SMS Officer $9/mnth
• Red Oxygen $23/mnth
• Bulletin $0.10/msg sent

These services allow users to continue to send and receive SMS messages into Outlook as they have enjoyed in the past with SMS Link.

Microsoft Kills SMS Link Service for Outlook

Clipboard Manager: AccelClip

Many people are probably familiar with using Lorem ipsum text to place some dummy text into a document, but did you know that Microsoft Word has a built in function to generate any amount of text you may need?

All you have to do is type =rand(P#,S#) into your document. Replace "P#" with the number of paragraphs of dummy text you need and "S#" with the number of sentences you want in each paragraph. Then just hit enter and voila! Filler text to your heart’s content.

Introducing Clipdiary, this is a clipboard manager whose forte is managing clipboard history. As per product description, clip diary would make sure you never lose data once copied. The program has a clipboard history, which you can easily grab to be pasted back to the windows clipboard or just paste it directly to your application.

Clipboard Manager: Clipdiary

Although the BlackBerry app is in beta and the developers caution users and testers to be careful in using the application, we need more of these types of devices being built for phones and mobile devices.

I do quite a bit of blogging and there’s plenty of times where I’m sitting somewhere without my computer and have a quick post idea. The ability to pull out my phone and start typing away would be terrific! Especially with the ability to take a quick photo or video with your phone and pop that into a post immediately!

The BlackBerry application currently works with WordPress.com and custom hosted WordPress installations. Just what I’d be using for my blogs and numerous other client sites.
