Bronx judge sentences “despicable human being” to max for pimping out 13-year-old girl on craigslist:

34-year-old Sahim Lucas of The Bronx was sentenced to 25 years in prison for prostituting a 13-year-old girl on craigslist. Bronx Supreme Court Justice Megan Tallmer gave him the max sentence allowed under New York law and had this to say about the defendant.

“You are as despicable a human being as I have ever come across,” she said sternly. “There is nothing here that would call for any type of leniency.”

Like so many other pimps and predators Lucas promised the runaway girl a career in modeling after meeting her in my old stomping grounds of Atlantic City in 2008. Once they got back to the Bronx things were much different. He advertised the girl on craigslist with explicit photos that he took of her. Also like most cowardly pimps he assaulted her and tortured her into working the sex trade for him.

During his trial Sahim showed no remorse even going as far to represent himself. Insert cliché quote about what kind of person represents himself.

“This is about you smiling for the cameras,” he shouted. “I didn’t do anything to this girl.”

You know, except for the assault, and torture and making her work like a slave for you.

We need more judges like Judge Tallmer that aren’t afraid to put these scumbags away for a long time where they belong.

If there is any true justice in the world Lucas will be traded around prison like the bitch that he is.

And by trolling I mean the dictionary definition (#2) and not the Urban Dictionary definition.

Chestnuthill tip leads to child porn arrest in Canada:

Ex-hockey coach busted for sending child porn to U.S. teen:

37-year-old Eric Ernest Cloutier of Timmins, Ontario has been arrested for allegedly sending child porn to a 15-year-old girl he met over the anonymous chat site Omegle.

Police say that Cloutier told the girl he was having sex with his 13-year-old daughter before sending her the video. Luckily Cloutier has no daughter.

The girl from Pennsylvania notified the NCMEC who in turn notified authorities.

Not so luckily is that Cloutier is a convicted sex offender. He served less than a year on house arrest and weekend jail for trying to hook up with a 14-year-old girl that he met online back in 2010. If you think the US is bad on how it lightly sentences child predators Canada is even worse.

When will all courts start treating these scumbags like the monsters they are and when will parents wake up to the real dangers to their children that are on the internet?

DC Comics The New 52: Rob Liefeld’s revenge

Yes, I know Cap is a Marvel Comics character but this picture is probably the most iconic drawing from the much maligned Rob Liefeld. And again I forget what week it is. I think it’s week 35. I’m not sure.

Anyway this week I want to talk about Mr. Liefeld. He’s gotten a bad rap for his artwork as noted above. This week I believe he started writing for two titles in The New 52.

Normally I don’t pay attention to who is writing a comic title. The only two writers that stick out in my head are Denny O’Neill for his work on the 80s and 90s run of The Question and Mark Waid for his current run on Daredevil. However when reading my DC titles for this week Mr. Liefeld’s name jumped out at me for some reason. He is currently writing Grifter and Deathstroke and you know what? He’s not a bad writer.

For the first time since the reboot Grifter isn’t massive headache to read, issue 9 was an easy read and made sense in a comic book way, which is the way it’s supposed to make sense. Deathstroke on the other hand was written and drawn by Liefeld. When I saw his name on the cover I thought “Oh crap, Slade is going to have more pouches than he knows what to do with.” However I was surprisingly pleased. Deathstroke had no overabundance of pouches and I didn’t find the artwork to be distracting at all. Plus we have The New 52 introduction of Lobo.

On to other matters I enjoyed the brief crossover between Suicide Squad and Resurrection Man. RM still stands out to be one of my favorite titles of The New 52. On the other Night of the Owls continues to disappoint. It’s too predictable. Some random member of the Bat-Family has to find a way to overcome their assigned Talon…every issue so far. For Batman being a flagship title I have not been impressed at all since September.

I received the following e-mail from someone who is making a living on the Village Voice Media owned backpage.com the way you think. She (I’m guessing) is taking me to task for my stance that VVM should shut down the adult section of backpage.

You know what?”? There ARE some people out here like me who have ads on backpage in the adult section for a reason. Some of us out here are just trying to SURVIVE and keep a roof over our heads. And maybe I am the exception to the rule, but I do this not because I WANT to, I do it because I HAVE to. Otherwise my rent doesnt get paid or any of my other bills. I had to live on the gd street one time for 2 years and sleep on a picnic bench at night and I will be DAMNED if I go back to living on the street ever again. I tried looking for a phukking job for 4 YEARS and no one would hire my ass to save my life between my bad credit and a bad past you better forget that noise. I am close to 50 yrs old and I am just barely getting by. No one is making me do this, I am making myself do it because I know what its like to live on the street and I know what its like to have been married a long time ago to an abusive a——— and I had to get rid of that jerk too. Not all of us out here are underage or doing human trafficking crap or whatever else you want to call it. But I will say one thing, you take away the adult section on backpage.com and I will just go find another website to post my ads on. No one is going to take away what very little income I make and Im talking very little, i just barely make enough to pay my bills and buy everyday essential items. Im below poverty level and thats no joke. So before you go get high and mighty and think you are going to solve the problem, think about some of us out here like me who are just barely making it. If you think I am joking think again. Its like what do you want me to do? starve and live on the street like a bum again? phukk that..

I just have a few things to say about this. The first is some times the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. I am sorry that you have had to resort to this lifestyle to try to make ends meet however at some point you have to stop blaming others for your circumstances and start taking responsibility for yourself. If you are not under the control of a pimp then there is no excuse. There are programs to assist people like yourself to find a better life.

Is this life worth risking being controlled by a pimp or being raped by a john?

Comic of the Week: Deadpool #54

Seriously Pennsylvania, what the hell? This is the fourth MyYearbook predator from your commonwealth that I’ve posted about in a row. If you keep this up I may have to start calling you Pedosylvania, which loosely translated means pedophiles’ woods. Creepy.

Braddock man, 34, admits to meeting several minors through social media site:

Braddock Man Arrested for Attempting Teenage Sexual Assault:

34-year-old Joshua Patterson of Braddock, Pennsylvania was arrested recently for allegedly assaulting a teenage girl that he met through MyYearbook. Patterson is accused of meeting a pair of girls from Boggs Township by posing as 19-year-old Joshua Phillips. Way to think up that alias Dillinger.

Anyway he met the two 14-year-old girls and at the meeting he began to rub one of the girl’s neck. Her friend tried pulling her away and Patterson allegedly tried holding on to her. He eventually escaped with the girl’s hoody. I wonder how many times he smelled it on the drive home.

Police were able to track Patterson down and he supposedly admitted to meeting other minors from the site as well.

Parents, again I say to you monitor what your kids are doing online. Make sure your friends with them on all their social sites. You are their parent first. Don’t worry about being the uncool parent. Worry more about your kids’ safety.

Trench on the NC gay marriage ban

Yesterday Amendment One was passed by the voters of North Carolina. Essentially that means that same-sex marriages are scheduled to be officially banned by the state constitution. Because of that a lot of venom has been spewed at my state calling us inbred hicks, bigots, Bible beaters, etc. Once again being the grim spectre of truth that I am I’m going to tell you how it really is.

First off let me preface this by saying that I wholeheartedly support gay marriage and I’ll tell you why. It’s no secret that I’m an adoptee. I feel very strong about adoption. I would rather see a child adopted by a loving gay couple than end up in either a sketchy foster home or worse, as remains in a medical waste bag.

Now getting back to North Carolina. When the voters of California passed Prop 8 some years ago nobody called them inbred hicks.

Let me tell you some things about our ‘inbred’ state. The city of Charlotte is only 2nd to New York when it comes to financial business. Raleigh is only 2nd to Silicon Valley when it comes to the tech field. We have two of the best higher learning institutions in the country in Duke and UNC. We have an NHL team that has won the Stanley Cup. Not to mention that City of Asheville is probably the 2nd most gay friendly city in the country. And like I always say I saw more instance of bias crime living in New Jersey than I ever have in North Carolina.

What really got the amendment passed was not necessarily hate but logistics and apathy. Think about it for a minute. Do you what else was being voted on yesterday? It was the North Carolina Republican primary. So right there you know that the majority of voters are going to be from a party that have a history of not supporting same-sex rights.

There are a little more than 9 million people in North Carolina. From what I understand only 2 million people voted in yesterday. That’s only 22% of the populace and most of them were Republicans. Trying to get people to pry themselves away from their work and home lives in order to vote in a primary in this day and age would be a miracle. If the amendment was going to be voted on in November it would have had a much different outcome.

You know what they say about forgetting the past right? In California Prop 8 was ruled unconstitutional. So will Amendment One.

Liz McDougall is a corporate sellout

Backpage.com is an ally in the fight against human trafficking:

I’ve posted about Liz McDougall before. She’s the new legal mouthpiece for the human trafficking division of Village Voice Media, aka Backpage.com. Recently she penned an editorial for the Seattle Times defending backpage’s (ahem) reputation. I’m surprised it wasn’t exclusively in one of VVM’s fish wrappers but I digress.

It’s the usual B.S. we hear from backpage about how they’re supposedly fighting the good fight against sex trafficking and child prostitution and how if they were to close down their adult section trafficking would just go ‘underground’.

What really got me about the piece is how passionate Ms. McDougall allegedly is about fighting human trafficking…

Weeks ago, I was a lawyer litigating high-profile Internet and cybercrime cases, and providing pro bono services to help victims of abuse, exploitation and civil-rights violations, including human trafficking. Today, I am still fighting cybercrime and human exploitation — but as general counsel for Village Voice Media Holdings, owner of Backpage.com.

Why did I make this move?

Because human trafficking, especially sex trafficking of children, is a social atrocity. Because I have children. Because I want human trafficking to stop. Because I believe Backpage.com is a critical ally to make it stop.

I didn’t leave a successful law partnership to sit on my hands and verbally defend a company accused of making money on illegal activity. I chose to work with Village Voice Media because of its active engagement to fight human trafficking and the opportunity to help it and the online industry do more.

How can anybody in their right mind actually believe that backpage and Village Voice Media are combating human trafficking while making millions of dollars a year from it. I would imagine that VVM must have waved a lot of money in front of her to compromise her supposed principles.

Wait a second. Someone who does something they don’t believe in for money? Doesn’t that make someone….dare I say it…a whore?
