When a good drink goes bad
Ok, I know Americans are a patriotic people, and the July 4th weekend is one of the most highly celebrated US holidays. I’ve seen cakes and cake contests, and you guys take the entire week off in July.
That’s all fine and well, and I actually kinda like it that you guys are all quiet through the holiday. It works for me. But the one thing that doesn’t work for me about this holiday?
Tri-coloured Sangria.
Yes. Red, White and Blue sangria. That’s just wrong.
If you really want to commit the sacrilegious step of making blue sangria, the recipe is here. If you’re more interested in just making a good sangria, try this out:
Champagne Sangria Recipe
3oz triple sec
3oz brandy
2oz rum
2oz vodka
1 cup strawberries, blended
chopped up fruit as desired (apple, mango, tangerine, pear, peach)
1 bottle sparkling wine
Mix together all ingredients except the sparkling wine and let it sit overnight in the fridge. Add in the sparkling wine just before serving.

The red white and blue sangria is funny. They are even making red white and blue martinis now.

Did you say Sangria? I LOVE SANGRIA!
Made some in the backyard last week and I offer up some more great tips (like FREEZING the fruit before you make the Sangria)
