CW May Be Interested In Moonlight

by brian on May 15th, 2008

moonlight-vamps-thumb Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily says there is “a chance, only a chance,” that freshly canceled vampire drama Moonlight could reappear on the CW. Apparently this eleventh-hour reprieve was so sudden the staff has stopped tearing down the sets.

With Smallville listing badly, the CW could use the instant boost Moonlight would provide. It would almost certainly be the new number one show on the network. Of course I should caution that the first speculation after a show is canceled is usually that “CW might pick it up.” I’m waiting for the scuttlebutt that they might recover Back to You or Quarterlife.

PLEASE PLEASE let this be true. I had a sick feeling in the stomach ever since the horrible announcement was made. We will follow this show wherever it goes!!

I think it would be great if CW picked up Moonlight. It’s different and the vampire genre is very hot right now. Seems like it would be very good for the network, fans and sponsors.

MOONLIGHT was one of the shows that intrigued me when I saw the promo in August, but I worked or had plans most Friday nights so I never watched it. Than one day I went to CBS and started watching the full episodes. I watched maybe 4 in a row and I was hooked. I never missed another episode. If I worked I taped it to watch as soon as I got home. I was never disappointed and was always left wanting more. I found myself waiting impatiently for Friday to come. during the writers strike I found myself watching the old episodes over and over. I was so happy to hear that 4 new episodes were being made. I am still replaying those and have got my whole family hooked as well. Friday nights have become MOONLIGHT night. Hearing that this wonderful show was canceled truly broke my heart. Friends and family enjoyed it so much together. Our ages range from 10-72. Last night was the finale and it pulled in over 7.5 million viewers, It consistently brought in ratings like this. If a network is having problems wouldn’t a show with ratings like this be a benefit. As I see it the CW would have so much to gain from having this show. I can promise I would be there.

Yeah, CBS has been dropping the axe something fierce this year. Maybe they’re making room for a Survivor spinoff?
