Camp Weary Parent Gets Ready For The Games
The official Olympic countdown has begun in our house. I have always loved the Olympics, but this year my kids are really into it as well. That may have to do with the fact that we went to Philadelphia to see the Olympic Trials for gymnastics in person. It also has to do with the fact that my son was born during the opening ceremonies of the Atlanta games (not at the games, but we were watching it at the hospital).
Yesterday’s post on teen Olympians was the official kick off of Olympic week for Camp Weary Parent. Today we are going to continue getting in the mood with a few activities:
Go for the Gold Olympic Sport word search - Identify country flags and keep track of the medal count with another worksheet
- Check out some Olympic themed books at the library such as:
- Sega has released the official video game of the games - Beijing Olympics 2008 available for PC, PS3, and Xbox right now.
- We are going to stage our own Wii Olympics with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games since we already have the game.
Join us later this week for more fun Olympic themed ideas!!
